BERGAMO: the opportunity to discover one of the most important art cities of Lombardy

At 9.00 meeting with English speaking guide at Funicolar in the upper city. 3 hours of guide visit of Città Alta tells a millenarian story. The old city on the hills is surrounded by its majestic walls, built by Venetians in the XVII century; it offers tourists enchanted medieval views. Here we will find noblemen’s houses, covered by frescos, monuments and squares together with narrow streets of medieval charm.
In the middle of Città Alta there is Piazza Vecchia (Old Square) with its municipal tower, the Town hall, siege of the citizen government from the Middle Age, and Dom’s square, art jewellery with the most important religious monuments of the city, the Dom dedicated to St. Alexander, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, Colleoni’s Chapel and the funerary monument of the famous warlord of Bergamo and the Baptistery.
Here in the upper city music lovers can visit the birthplace of Gaetano Donizetti, his museum and the grave where the music composer, famous in the whole world, is buried. Moreover we will visit the fortress and the castle of San Vigilio, which together with their walls, gun ports and gates tell us about extraordinary fortified city.

VALCALEPIO AND ISEO LAKE: taste and landscape

At 9h30 meeting with participants at Congress Center Giovanni XXIII. Departure for Valcalepio, by private bus.
Guided tour to Acetaia, wineyard and vinery (2 hours)
Testa’s family pays particular attention to the guest who would like to be wrapped for some hour of culture and tradition. Guests will be accompanied in cultural route in the canteen, where they will be involved in the discover of the vinification and sparkling techniques.
Then we will ove with a short walk in the S. Stefano historical village, to Testa’s Acetaia where lives all the batteries dedicated to the production of the “Balsamo degli Angeli”.
After the visit, Testa will propose a wine degustation.
Departure to Iseo and Monteisola.
Monteisola obtained the title of “One of the most beautiful village in Italy”. It’s famous all over the world for nets production. It’s the largest lake isle in Europe. On Monteisola there are 12 villages; the town hall is in Siviano.

Stop to Peschiera Maraglio (Monteisola).

Como and Bellagio

At 8.00 departure by private bus to Como.
The western shore of Lake Como appears before visitors with constantly changing landscape and views, sudden and surprising inlets, coves and gulfs, concealing within them splendid lakeside villas and estates reflected in the waters of the lake. Meeting with English speaking guide and visit of the city. Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon arrive in Bellagio. Known as the “pearl of Lario”, it is now famed for its enviable position and picturesque old buildings. Linked to all the main towns on the lake by a boat service, Bellagio has an old parish church dedicated to San Giacomo, dating from the second half of the 13th century. Wandering around its colourful little shops, stopping in its lakeside restaurants, or strolling within view of its villas is a must. The most famous of these is Villa Melzi, built as a summer residence at the beginning of the 19th century for Francesco Melzi d’Eril, a friend of Napoleon. Only its splendid English gardens, full of rare exotic plants, can be visited in springtime. Villa Serbelloni, in a panoramic position, now owned by the Rockefeller Foundation, has an extraordinary garden with grottos dating from the 18th century.

1. FLORENCE : cradle of the Renaissance

Florence's museums, palaces, and churches house some of the greatest artistic treasures in the world. The most popular and important sites in Florence include the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Bargello, and the Accademia. The churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable art galleries, and the library of San Lorenzo is a magnificent exhibition of Michelangelo's architectural genius. Wander some of the oldest streets in the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio, and experience the "newest" area of Florence, the Oltrarno. Be sure to set aside time to see the vast and varied art collection housed in the Pitti Palace. When you grow weary of museums and monuments, head outdoors. Spend a day at the Boboli Gardens or climb the hill to the church of San Miniato al Monte to experience an enchanting view of Florence.

3. MILAN

To get an idea of how artists, scholars, scientists and musicians were so inspired in Milan, it is enough just to pass a moment in front of “The Last Supper”, spend a couple of hours in the Pinacoteca di Brera and the Museo di Storia Naturale (Museum of Natural History), lose yourself in the scenery of the Castello Sforzesco (Sforza Castle) or attend world class musical events at La Scala Theatre. There are small cinemas in the centre and new-concept multiplex cinemas located around the city that offer a wide choice of films an latest releases.
